My name is Shabnam. I am a fashion designer, illustrator and educator, with a degree in Art and Design, and a degree in Fashion Design from UAL (University of the Arts London). I also have a background in science which complements my approach to art and design.
As a mother and a designer, I have a deep passion for nurturing creative courage in young people. I believe that art and design can be taught to everyone and from a young age.
I founded Art and Design Hive to give children a fundamental understanding of the principles of art and design and to teach them the practical and creative skills needed in different disciplines such as drawing and painting, fashion, interior design, product design, graphic design, sculpting, set design, architecture and more.
Why does teaching art and design to children matter?
Teaching art and design to children stimulates their imagination, curiosity and it fosters their creativity. It supports the development of crucial skills such as problem solving, critical thinking and communication. Developing their creativity helps children express their emotions more effectively and through collective projects they gain confidence in their social skills. It also improves their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
